Where is the mint mark?

Seated Liberty half dollars → the mint mark is on the reverse, below eagle.

Barber half dollars → reverse, below eagle, like Morgan dollars.

Walking Liberty half dollars → the mint mark is on the obverse (front), to the left of the date.

Franklin half dollars → the mint mark is on the reverse (back), above the E in states...if missing, coin is from Philadelphia Mint.

Kennedy half dollars → the mint mark is on the reverse, above and to the right of A inH ALF...if missing the coin was minted at the Philadelphia Mint. Starting in 1968, the mint mark is on the obverse above date near W in WE.

Which half dollars have little value?

Some half dollars are only worth face value. All half dollars dated before 1965 have silver value and are worth much more than face value. But, some non-silver half dollars (1965-date) are not selling too well at this time such as common date, circulated Kennedy half dollars dated after 1964, heavily used half dollars, and half dollars from the last few years, and common modern half dollars. These are VERY common - spend them. They do not sell. We do not buy modern date heavily circulated half dollars unless we are forced as part of a larger collection of good coins. We do buy proof and certified modern half dollars.
