How to sell your Coin Collection
2nd Markets is an Internet merchant who has been buying from the public for over 30 years (back in the day when it was called MAIL ORDER). You sell to us by either
asking us to travel to view your collection, by bringing the collection to us in Tennessee, or by shipping to us using our Fedex account after getting our preliminary bid. You
begin the process of selling your collection by contacting us. But, before you do, we highly recommend that you check up on us. You should check up on any buyer you choose to deal with.
We have invested 30 years in building our reputation.
Step 1 - Check up on us.
Before you sell to any Internet buyer, you should learn who they are. Do they have a good reputation and a history of keeping their word?
We invite you to check up on us before you decide whether or not to do business with us.
What do our customers say? Read the reviews of hundreds of happy sellers who have sold to us in the past. (If a buyer cannot provide customer reviews - beware!)
Step 2 - Make your list.
You can put as much work into this as you want, but the more detail you provide, the better informed our offer will be. You can simply say "Got a few coins for sale" (LOL) or
"we have 155 coins" or you can write "155 coins consisting of a mix of gold and silver, all USA coins"...or you can provide a detailed, line by line listing of
all 155 coins. You may not have the energy or the expertise to do much more than give a count. That's OK. But understand, the more you can tell us about what you have the more light we have
with which to make an informed, sight-unseen offer.
To make a detailed inventory list, it should have these data points:
1. COUNTRY - (usually going to be USA but we buy any gold or silver coin from around the world)
2. DATE and MINT MARK (if you don't know what the mint mark is, skip it, we can cover that later)
3. DENOMINATION (is is a silver dollar, half dollar, quarter, dime, nickel, penny?) NOTE: We don't buy many pennies or nickels unless they are Indian Head pennies or Buffalo nickels)
4. QUANTITY (sometimes folks bought more than one of the same thing)
5. DESCRIPTION (proof set? Gold or Silver? general notes, graded or not, etc - any descriptive note)
Step 3 - Contact Us
Once you have made your list, it is time to send it to us.
Alternatively, email us direct. Our email is email@example.com
You can also FAX it to us if you prefer that method (some of us are old school). Our FAX number is 423-815-1426.
Step 4 - Whitelist Us
All initial communication is via email. We do not call you on the phone (at least at first). So that our emails are not blocked by your provider, please add LEADS@2NDMARKETS.COM to your
email address book or contacts list.
Step 5 - We Reply
We receive hundreds of leads every week, as you might imagine. We try to reply to every single person who contacts us, but sometimes,
if we are not interested, or not enough information was provided, or we are swamped, we may not reply. If you do not hear from us within 48 hours of initial contact,
please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and ask about the status of your inquiry.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE STATUS OF OUR BID. You can email, but please do not call.
